13, THAT WANT TO GO!
By: Jose Argotty
From the streets to the music of the street to the poem, the street straight to your ears, fall 13, fall who want and those who do not, their loss.
I follow from his first album when I stop fidgeting in his lyrics, his irreverence and good humor, although my friends, radio and television then stigmatized as a capricious Reggeatoneros vulgar or group that only wanted to attract attention and not believing, were gradually entering the scene, good and bad, people started to listen and change their concept, we started to dance music and today the acceptance of Calle 13's position as one of the greatest exponents of the alternative scene on our continent, without having to have 4 songs stuck on radio, MTV or VH1 because they and their followers have spread their music, videos, lyrics, his work ... I can now feel proud to be a soldier in this platoon from its inception.
Fortunately, the latest album by Calle 13 "Come those who want" is a dose of musical variety, perhaps more mature. Have you noticed this taking hold in the context of "creative" in Latin America to create from our roots?. And in that sense these Puerto Ricans are very clear, exquisite evolution leads has put aside the monotonous beat of rap, have traveled, have been shot, have learned to enrich their music, heard in this Andean instruments, drums Caribbean trumpets, melodies that evoke sounds of this beautiful southern Latin America, women's voices have become important and balance the most precise concept in time, clearly have an enviable versatility to be like the strong points vary, they will sing the daily life of our countries, "Third World", land, political corruption, the social injustice, love, our people, our leaders, we suggest resistance without fear of anything, are among the few artists who say what they think and disagreement is salvageable, not everything is beautiful, all is not well, therefore should be questioned and even better to be said for us not to shut up and we recover our memory. Now, if we have recorded by Ruben Blades, Mercedes Sosa, the Momposina Toto, Omar Rodriguez, Orishas Santaolalla and his music is the alternative proposal is more important today in our continent if not respectfully Tell me who of musicians and scholars from the scene, could say no to an invitation by Calle 13? If more than anything would be a great opportunity to experience new music without grids, not what is fashionable, if not we hear that we like and not by imposition makeup of the radio. Congratulations to all who wish to enter, it will take a big step to hear this revolution!.
